i cannot remember which one is hillary duff, and which one is lizzie mcguire. am i currently hearing music performed by a fictional person? or is there even any question?
speaking of the line between fiction and reality, reading the journals of those whose lives one's touched but which one wouldn't presume to know really much more than vague shades about is very surreal, and it's all on one's own end - that is: i read someone else's words and filter them through this very limited knowledge i have of them and their ways and try to make sense of it. but since these diary things are always cryptic (some even more than mine) with nicknames, shortened names, and ambiguous pronouns galore, there's an extra rorschach element. which "t" did the king feature creature seduce? is it the same t that rumor and jugular evidence suggests she seduced some nights previous? and of course it's not any of my business, but it is fun to speculate.
one also wonders who the fifth girl is, the one who is famous for eating her own shit - this reputation has not reached me so she cannot be all that famous for it, but still, i think i want to meet this person.
but my point is - i assume that most of the nine plus one girls are people i know, but that's just absolutely ridiculous to assume, what, just because we're both (possibly) in the same town??? and clearly at least one of the girls is not in this town. so the entire line of reason is absurd, but in order to interpret the world i insist on making it relate to me. this selfish tendency will be the doom of any serious theoretical (not to mention self-searching/philosophical) endeavor if i cannot reign it in someday.
