dude, where's my past?
even the most overdone, overused, and overvisible aspects of this youth culture will be lost scraps by the time "that 2000's show" comes out to mine the stereotypes of our time: those wacky, silly 2000's people will dress like justin timberlake and ja rule, and argue over whether bush is 50% awesome or 90% awesome. there will be no emo kids, no fat door guy stamping your hand and no cracked-out girl from god knows where trying to look indie and dancing with you to modest mouse. all of this will fall between the cracks and cease to exist.

this means that the good sides of us can remain pure -

but it also means that we cannot trust television or movies or books or anything to even give us a warped, wrong, sorry-ass vision of this rock and roll gone lazy lifestyle that we lead - all we have is our memories, journals, and photos.

i was hoping, i was hoping we could crack each other up.
