back. sorry about that. while that entry represents the sort of half-baked philosophizing (dealing, moreover, with exceedingly serious topics deserving a far greater level of thought and involvement), i'm going to leave it up there. when faced with something as unacceptably painful and unsettling as the holocaust (even by such an indirect means as a television program one didn't even intend to watch), there's a instinctive need to get it out, to shake off that portion of the scum that got dislodged and carried up with you to the surface. the inner disquiet will never be truly resolved, for who can deny, in the face of all that we know, that we live in a world where the profoundest of evils is not only possible, but has even happened? but the manifest content of this dread thought, whatever shape that content takes, can at least be expunged. and so we have such things as the previous entry. of course they don't add up to much - they are formed out of the mealy, iron-deficient skeleton of an idea that we cannot let have full corporeal form, because it would destroy us - ....
