1:19 a.m. - 2004-04-18 There is essentially no way of knowing if it will strike tomorrow or perhaps a year from now. If you knew it was going to hit you today you would batten down the hatches, bury everything precious to you, and seek a dank, deep, unbreakable hole in which to secrete yourself until the danger is passed. But that would take all day, and if the Super-Tornado does not come through until next week, well then, you would have to do it all over again when next week came around. But what if when it comes next week you had no warning at all? Better to prepare everything now and lay there in your pit, staring up at the distant circle of sky-shaded light, and wait for the Super-Tornado. It may take years. |
