11:07 p.m. - 2004-05-11 my numbers on round 2 weren't so good, i only picked 3/8 winners. some of these were expected - the insistence that john edwards would be a good running mate for kerry is widespread even if it is wrong, and it's kind of inevitable that some morons would think hillary clinton has a snowball's chance of either being offered or accepting the nomination. this time around the matches are especially exciting. John Edwards v Mark Warner - Warner. mainly just because as i've said before i think edwards is bad news. Bill Richardson v Evan Bayh - Richardson, same reasons as before, plus i don't think bayh should have got past round 2 Wes Clark v John McCain - this was the big inevitable showdown. like i said last time, barring the goofball tom brokaw matchup, mccain has no place in this bracket. he would not accept the deal and kerry would never nuke the female democratic vote like this. Clark. Hillary Clinton v Mary Landrieu - Landrieu, for reasons previously explained. these rubes will probably pick hillary though. thus i anticipate tomorrow's matchups to be Richardson v Edwards (Richardson), Clark v Clinton (ugh), which I can't predict, probably Clark - final battle between Richardson and Clark, I say Richardson. who'd'a thunk? we'll see. |
