beef with me, i'm'a even the score equally
this whole popfest thing has been basically pleasant. i keep telling myself it is a good break from work but the fact is that while it is going on i don't really notice myself feeling super relaxed or filled with thrills like i did on that weekend when i saw sleater-kinney, vanessa, and elizabeth. of course, that was also the weekend my computer got destroyed by lightning, so...whatever. five days off of work is five days off of work, so even if i'm not saturated with some feeling of relief and peacefulness, i'm not fucking at work. also, there are some signs of feeling good, like i felt sexy at points. kate magma was even flirting with me, aggressively. too aggressively, because i felt some strange impulse to pour water down the back of her shirt. i thought this was sort of motivated by stuff we were talking about but she didn't. this seems to be kind of a growing phenomenon at shows lately because i am the third person i know to do something like this at a musical event in the last week. anyway she guilt tripped me into buying her a drink and still wouldn't shut up about it afterwards. jeez. girls are nothing but trouble!

oh and tullycraft actually kicked fucking ass, a great show that really brought out the old tight pockets style addison dancing zone. not knowing the songs kept it from being transcendent, but it really was fucking good, and this is in the context of a whole week of seeing above-average bands put on above-average shows. even geoff reacher's set was exceptionally good the other day, although he complained that he "wasn't speaking in tongues." bp helium has a fabulous 70s rock thing going on, like if suzi quatro was an elephant six band and fronted by bryan pooooole. and mouser seems to have found a way to cross math-rock, hippie shit with horns in it, and system of a down. there are other things to report but i will wait until i get a job as chris hassiotis before i start going into "Best/Worst Expansion of the Definition of Pop Music" and stuff.

Me: (to group) So I just tried a JB's sausage for the first time ever, and -
