and so happy christmas
three more days of this? i must be crazy. winged migration was better on the big screen, and my family is better on the phone. of course there have been laughs and nice times and i have been in an almost hysterical mood when i haven't felt sullen and overstimulated, which is weird, because i think i tend to hear MORE conversation in cars when tooling around with friends. it probably doesn't help that this is a town of no physical activity whatsoever. so far i've been in a room, a car, a car, another room, and some stores. ahhh, it's not so bad. i think i finally have most of my first cousins straight although a few didn't show up and there were two new ones i'd never even heard of before. my christmas wrapping was some of the worst i have ever done, although the one wrapped solely in leftover bits of wrapping paper is sort of cool in a high-concept way. at night on the rowboat-like, smushy air mattress, i long for the strangest people.
all i have to add now is that i am 1000% agreed with emily about getting heather lynn on the mechanical bull, and want to take the pictures. also for the consumption of emily, there is apparently a tourist landmark here called "THE BLOUNT MANOR" or perhaps MANSION; unfortunately, i only saw the signs when we were at green lights, and could not take a picture.
